Smarter Energy, Lower Bills

Battery-buffered Heat Pumps

Imagine a home heating system that doesn’t just warm your space, but also intelligently manages energy. Battery-buffered heat pumps give you the best of both worlds: efficient heating and cooling plus smart energy storage. This means lower bills, reduced reliance on the grid, and a smoother, more sustainable energy flow throughout the day.

Battery-buffered heat pumps pair a heat pump system with dedicated battery storage so that renewable electricity can be used more efficiently and consistently. By charging the battery during periods of high solar or during off-peak grid hours, the system can power the heat pump later when demand rises or renewable output falls. These solutions deliver comfort without compromise, ensuring your home stays warm while maximising savings and minimising environmental impact by reducing reliance on fossil-fuel–based grid electricity and smoothing load peaks. Together, these technologies create a more flexible, resilient, and sustainable energy ecosystem.

All of our heat pump installations also have a 24/7 system monitoring and we offer expert support to ensure your renewable energy system performs at its best for years to come.

Renewable-energy Batteries

Even if you don’t have a heat pump installed, you can still take advantage of renewable energy and reduce costs by storing surplus renewable power— whether from solar panels or off-peak tariffs—on a renewable-energy battery.

Renewable-energy batteries are specialised storage systems designed to capture and hold electricity produced from clean sources such as solar panels. During periods of high renewable generation—like sunny midday hours these batteries absorb surplus electricity that would otherwise be curtailed or fed back to the grid at low value. Later, when renewable output drops, they discharge that stored energy to power your home.  They can also provide backup power during outages ensuring your heating and essential appliances and systems continue to operate even when the grid goes down.

Solar Power

More people across the UK are turning to solar panel installations as a practical response to rising electricity costs and a growing desire to live more sustainably. For many households, it’s an effective way to gain greater control over their energy consumption and reduce dependence on traditional grid power. Installing solar panels can significantly cut monthly energy bills, lower a home’s carbon footprint, and even boost property value over time. As a result, it has become an increasingly common and straightforward choice for those seeking both financial benefits and a meaningful environmental impact.

The best places to install solar panels are south-facing, unshaded roofs on a slope. Other good options include east or west-facing roofs, flat roofs, or ground-level locations if there is sufficient sunlight. The key factors are maximising sunlight exposure and having adequate, unshaded space.

Support & Servicing

At HEATHORIZONS we are a customer first organisation and we pride ourselves in our customer support.  Expect us to be in touch in the first few months of your installation and at the start of winter to make sure your Heat Pump is still running efficiently and to check that you are warm.  If not, we can make adjustments to the set-up online for you to help optimise your heating installation.

However, as with a traditional boiler installation, heat pumps still require an annual service.  Our experts will visit your property, check everything is working correctly and ensure your heat pump is working efficiently..

We offer annual service fees which will provide call-out cover for a full year. Payments can be made monthly or annually at a reduced rate. Monthly rates start at £15 per month.*
